Childbirth Classes

Which class is right for you?

Childbirth Classes

I have been teaching natural childbirth classes both in the United States and abroad since 2002, and now teach in the Concord, NH area.

These classes are not required for Doula services, and are available whether or not you plan to take advantage of my services as a Doula.

I offer a package discount for those who enlist me both for Natural Childbirth Classes and as their Doula; however, I also offer both of these services separately.

Natural Childbirth Classes

My Natural Childbirth Classes consist of a five-week series covering exercise, nutrition, health of mother and baby, avoiding unnecessary intervention and pain in labor, and relaxation techniques.

These classes educate parents about healthy options before, during, and after pregnancy and childbirth.  Though we focus on natural childbirth, we also discuss contingencies, emergencies, and the benefits of medical intervention when required for the safety of the mother or baby.

We also focus on the Husband (or other Coach) as a vital member of the birth team, and my husband assists with some of the classes and as a resource to help Dads or other support people understand the experience and truly get involved in making the birth a joyful one.

I am affiliated both as a doula and childbirth educator with the Childbirth and Postpartum Professional Association (CAPPA).  See www.cappa.net for more information.

Other Childbirth Classes

For those not necessarily pursuing a fully natural childbirth, or who are unable to take the eight week classes, I also have a four-week childbirth class I have taught since 2007.  Following our recent move, I currently am seeking a venue for these classes.

Bradley® Classes

After over 10 years of experience with the Bradley Method®, including over 6 years as a childbirth educator and doula certified by the American Academy of Husband-Coached Childbirth, I have decided not to continue my affiliation with the organization.  I remain very devoted to many of the principles Doctor Bradley championed.

Childbirth Consulting

Whether you want a refresher course, to delve more deeply into childbirth, or cover specific topics in a limited time, I offer consultations on an hourly basis.  I am also available as a guest speaker, lecturer, facilitator, panel member, or subject matter expert.  Contact me for more information.

Pregnancy Help Center Classes

Since moving recently, I have temporarily discontinued my Pregnancy Help Center classes.  I hope to begin these again at a local facility, hoping to continue my practice of providing free classes on the basics of pregnancy, childbirth, and postpartum care to at-risk parents.
